What is the CCEJN?

Central California Environmental Justice Network, led by diverse local people and working with other networks globally will end environmental racism and achieve economic justice through sustainable regional solutions.

Mission Statement

Our goals are to preserve our natural resources now and in the future, by seeking better ways to minimize or eliminate environmental degradation in Central Valley communities.  This is crucial because rural communities in California’s Central Valley suffer a disproportionate amount of negative health, social and financial impacts.

  • Work with community members and other stakeholders at the local, regional, state and federal level to identify environmental justice issues and develop sustainable solutions
  • Educate and empower communities, especially focusing on rural areas, to advocate for themselves by providing them with technical assistance and resources
  • Promote alternative methods for a safer environment
  • Encourage youth to be aware of and participate in environmental issues
  • Serve as a hub for environmental activism in the Central Valley
